"Empowering the Next Generation: Launch of Youth Foundation to Support Our Future Young People"

Blackburn with Darwen welcomes the development of its new Young BwD Foundation aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children in the area. The foundation, which is set to be launched in the coming weeks, will provide vital support and resources to children and young people who are facing a range of challenges.

The Young BwD Foundation, has been established by a group of local youth charities, community leaders, who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children in Blackburn with Darwen. The foundation will work in partnership with local schools, social services, and other community organisations to identify the needs of children and provide the necessary funding and delivery support.

"We are thrilled to be launching this new Young BwD Foundation, which we believe will make a real difference in the lives of children in our community," said Martin Hartley-Smith, Chief Operating Officer. "There are so many children who are facing challenges in their lives, whether it be poverty, homelessness, or mental health issues. We want to provide a safe and supportive environment through our founding members where they can access the resources they need to thrive."

The foundation will offer a range of services, delivered through the founding members including youth work, sports, arts, EHWB, educational support, mentoring, and a range of recreational activities. It will also look to identify, apply and secure funding for its members so that they can continue to provide much needed services for young people.

"We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to supporting children in need," said Amar Abbas, one of the founding members of the foundation. "That's why we are taking a holistic approach in creating and setting up a Young Persons Foundation working together to provide wraparound support that addresses the many challenges that children may be facing."

The foundation has already received significant support from Young People’s Foundation Trust, Blackburn Council, DCMS, Spring North and financial pledges from the 11 founding members who are also donating their time and resources to support the development of the Young BwD Foundation.

"We are incredibly grateful for the support that we have received so far," said Leon Crosby, a member of the foundation's management board. "It is clear that there is a real need for this kind of organisation in our sector, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of the children and families we serve."

The foundation will be officially launched in the coming weeks, and the founders are encouraging anyone who is interested in supporting the cause to get involved. "We believe that everyone has a role to play in improving the lives of children in our community," said Jon McCaughey. "Whether you can donate your time, resources, or funding, every contribution makes a difference."
